NICHOLAS HOUSER
Born in southern Canada (Idaho), Nic left a more religious-centered life for the rivers and mountains about 16 years ago. After River Guiding down south for years, he went abroad to climb in 9 different countries. While sport climbing in Thailand, Nic ran into the Canadian woman of his dreams. Although they moved quickly (Thai wedding within 8 days), 13 years later they've got a place in Calgary and their first child is on the way.
When he can, Nic is descending wilderness rivers down south, setting up a portaledge in Yosemite, skiing pow in the Rockies, or hanging out on the glacier between weather windows in Alaska. Some of his exploits can be seen in the Canadian and American Alpine Journals. Most of the time, however, Nic is installing Christmas lights, or window washing with his husky, Kyros, though he would prefer meeting new people and sharing the love of adventure and nature with you.

I did the outdoor lead lesson and it was absolutely fantastic! It far exceeded all of my expectations and left me wanting more. Nicholas, our guide, was exceptional. His wealth of knowledge is truly impressive, his professionalism was top-notch, and he was just an all-around great guy to spend the day with. I am already thinking about signing up for the multi-pitch systems course once I gain more experience with outdoor lead climbing.
