An AST 2 IN Your SOUTHERN ALBERTA HOME RANGES? You bet.
Book your seat today on our AST 2 South Rockies Course. The Cloud Nine Rockies AST 2 Course spans 4 consecutive days with the townsites of Lethbridge and Fernie as hubs for Field Days. The AST 2 Curriculum is designed for Intermediates looking to access more complex terrain environments, and those wanting the skill sets required to make accurate assessments of risk in more complex snowpack environments. Develop your understanding of the theories related to "confidence" and "uncertainty" in decision your making, and learn tactics to be able to safely make exceptions to the given Hazard Ratings and Problems as listed in the Public Avalanche Bulletin, in addition to the ATES Ratings for your proposed trips.
This AST 2 will set you on a course to begin to effectively manage personal and group exposure to risk, access the lines you've been dreaming about, and give you the skills to access and explore more of the complicated Backcountry environments that the South has to offer.
Our Field Days are typically based from Waterton National Park, Castle Mountain Resort and area, as well as Fernie BC.
Book a Private AST 2 South Rockies with you and your crew, and add on a Heli Drops to any or all of your Field Days in some of the best terrain Fernie BC has to offer. Maximize educational time in the terrain and snowpacks we're here to learn to access.
*Avalanche Hazard & Conditions Dependant.
